Privacy

The short version: we hold publicly listed business details so we can post letters to brilliant local businesses, we keep what you send us only to reply to you, and we delete anything about you the same day you ask.

Who we are

CornerFront (“we”) builds and manages websites for independent local businesses in the UK. This page explains what information we hold, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Business information we collect

We find the businesses we write to using publicly available business listings — the name, address, phone number, category and review score a business shows publicly on services like Google Maps. We use this to identify well-reviewed businesses without a website and to post them a letter or postcard about our service.

We rely on legitimate interests as the lawful basis for this business-to-business outreach. We write to businesses at their trading address, not to individuals at home.

If you'd rather we didn't hold your business's details, tell us and we'll delete them and never write again — same day, no questions asked. The same applies to any preview website we've built: one message and it comes down.

Enquiries

When you use our contact form we receive what you send us: your name, business name, email, phone number and message. We use it to reply and for nothing else. We never sell or share your details with third parties for their marketing.

Letters, postcards and QR codes

The QR code and short web link printed on our letters and postcards are unique to each business. If you scan or type one, we record that the link was visited so we know our post arrived and can follow up sensibly. That's all it records — no location, no personal profile.

Websites we run for clients

Client websites include a contact form. Messages sent through it go directly to that business by email; we store a copy so the business can retrieve it. We host the site's content (text, photos, opening hours and publicly available reviews) on the business's behalf.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to count visits to our own pages. We don't run advertising trackers and we don't use cookies to profile you.

Where data lives and how long we keep it

Our systems run on established EU/UK-serving infrastructure providers (website hosting, database and email delivery). We keep enquiry messages for as long as we're in conversation with you, business listing details while they're relevant to our outreach, and we delete on request at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us:

  • what information we hold about you or your business
  • to correct it
  • to delete it and stop contacting you

Just get in touch — the fastest route is the contact form or the email address below. If you're unhappy with how we've handled something, you also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
